In WANTED: Yokai Uprising, an online co-op game on Steam built with Unreal Engine C++, I worked on a bit of everything. I tackled online replication for sound, physics, and trigger colliders to keep multiplayer running smoothly, built the game’s sound system, and dropped in most of the sound effects. I also dabbled in particle effects to add some punch to combat and environments, and handled the logic and widgets for the pause and main menus to make them clean and functional. On top of that, I helped implement weapon physics and VFX to make combat feel satisfying and impactful.
The project was a team effort—I collaborated with 6 programmers, 8 artists, and 2 game designers, using AGILE methodologies and the Trello platform to keep everything on track. One of the highlights was working with Berkeley Valencia students to produce original music, sound effects, and voice lines, which really brought the game to life. It was a blast wearing so many hats and working with such a talented, multidisciplinary team to create something special.
